The management team of the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has refuted claims suggesting that the singer had left a will. The management clarified that the artist passed away without creating any legal document detailing the distribution of his assets.
In a recent interview with TVC, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, asserted that he discovered a will purportedly belonging to his son. Expressing shock, he mentioned, “I was so shocked when I heard that the 26-year-old had a will. As a father, I do not have something like that. I’ve never thought of writing my will.”
Aloba went on to express skepticism about the authenticity of the will, mentioning that it bore a thumbprint instead of a signature. He alleged that these thumbprints were affixed after the singer’s demise, emphasizing that Mohbad was the type to sign rather than use thumbprints.
Responding to these claims, Mohbad’s management released a statement on the late singer’s Instagram page, describing the allegations as “false and misleading.” The statement emphasized the following points:
The police authorities are currently conducting an investigation, and the autopsy results are expected in a few months.
No member of Mohbad’s management or his lawyer has communicated the existence of a will or any thumb-printed document to the family or the public.
The management assured that if such a document existed, it would have been properly registered with the Probate Registry. They urged everyone to refrain from spreading false and misleading information.
All accounts owned and controlled by Mohbad during his lifetime were placed on a Post No Debit order on September 12, 2023. This order remains in effect until the resolution of the internal dispute, after which the accounts will be handed over to the family.
In light of these statements, Mohbad’s management seeks to dispel misconceptions and urges the public to refrain from sharing inaccurate information.
