The Nigeria Police Force arrested Linus Williams, CEO of Blord Group of Companies, according to a statement released on Tuesday by Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Blord Group is under investigation for multiple allegations including fraud, violations of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, terrorism financing, and other offenses. Adejobi clarified that the arrest of Blord was not prompted by a petition from Martin Otse, also known as Verydarkman.
According to the statement, “The FCID NPF-NCCC is currently probing complaints lodged against BLORD GROUP, BLORD REAL ESTATE LTD, BLORD JETPAYE LIMITED, and BILLPOINT TECHNOLOGY. These allegations involve cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism financing, and failure to comply with regulatory standards.”
“We will conduct thorough investigations. Ensuring the security of Nigeria’s cyberspace is paramount,” the statement concluded.
