Joao Felix, a former Chelsea loanee, has expressed his desire to play for Barcelona in the future, despite being a rival of his current club, Atletico Madrid.
After a rather unremarkable spell with Chelsea, where he made 20 appearances in both the Premier League and Champions League, scoring four goals, the 23-year-old Portuguese international returned to Atletico Madrid. His time at Chelsea was overshadowed by the team’s struggles, culminating in a 12th-place finish in the Premier League. However, Felix did enjoy his time in London and was open to staying at the club.
But with a change in management and direction under Mauricio Pochettino, Felix’s chances of a return to Chelsea diminished, especially with the arrival of Christopher Nkunku, who could occupy a similar role on the team.
With his future uncertain, Felix has boldly stated his ambition to move to Barcelona. In a direct conversation with Fabrizio Romano, he expressed his desire, saying: “I want to go to Barcelona.” Felix described Barcelona as his biggest dream since childhood and his top choice for his next career move. He emphasized that joining Barcelona would be a dream come true for him.
While negotiating with Atletico Madrid and the financial situation at Barcelona may present challenges, Joao Felix’s position is clear – he wants to join Barcelona, and he has made his intentions very explicit.
